Asylum is not a place for unadulterated spam.

The entire reason it was started was so that witty and amusing threads about Hatstands and the colour taupe were not considered to be a waste of space.

But that does not make this place a refuge for utter spam.

Please keep that in mind when posting, and especially when starting threads. If you want to play games, or post things about your day take it to general.

I really wish I had the old post that explains this much more eloquently, but I don't.

I don't mean to be a dictator, I just think this sub-forum needs a little direction, so that it can be taken seriously by all.

Hatstand, taupe, giraffe, minkeys

ahhh the joys of abusing your supermodly powers

I love everyone! Also, has anyone noticed how closely I remsemble a fluffy bunny?

It occured to me recently that alot of people don't really know how the Asylum came about, and what it means, and what it is all about. And so in order to rectify that situation I thought I'd tell a story...

Once upon a time, in a place that sadly no longer exists, there was a girl called BlahBlahWoof (or was it BlahBlahWoofWoof?) and she started a thread called "Rolls her eyes" the thread was about well something that I can't remember that made her indignant. And so for many posts and many pages the thread remained on topic, but then slowly the force of the purple monkey was exerted on it, and it turned into a discussion of hatstands, and monkeys, and aardvarks, and the colour taupe and many other things of great import, and many people found it highly amusing.

And then one day we went to post in this our most favourite of threads, and it was gone, deleted by a supermod, who felt that spam such as this did not deserve a place in our hearts, or forums. This caused great uproar, and luckily the admins were able to find the thread, and bring it back to life.

This incident however made some people sit up and think, and decide that there needed to be a place where the discussion of hatstands and the colour taupe and monkeys was not considered spam, but considered valuable. And so those people lobbied, and really just bugged people until such a place was founded. And lucky me, was put in charge.

The thing is this, to make sure that the discussion of hatstands, and the colour taupe, and monkeys and aardvarks was not, and is not considered to be worthless, this place cannot become a haven for spam, because then it will be not worth keeping hold of. So that is why I have recently been getting a little more strict around her, I realise that BDUC is not BDU, and so obviously new threads start, and new topics of conversation develop, but despite those differences, there remains, in my head at least, a line between what belongs in here and what does not.

Threads that would be more suited to another forum, general in particular will be moved there, not only because I want to keep the integrity of this sub-forum, but because that is what the sub-forum system is all about.

If I move a thread, and you disagree with the movement, or if there is a thread that you think deserves to graduate into here, let me know, and I'll give it some thought.
